Had another amazing hunt. This was my fourth elk hunt at Wayne's and I will be back again. Had a lot of action this week. Hunted with Wayne the first few days and hunting with him after all this time was worth more than anything else!! Jared called in a nice 5 x 5 int 20 yards the third day but not a clear shot. I wounded a nice 6 point on the fifth day with Micah. Got in the middle of a herd on the last day with Micah. We had 5 different bulls around us and a bunch of cows. Saw the big herd bull but couldn't get a shot at him. Passed on a descent 5×5 at 30 yards. Thank you Wayne and Annette and the whole crew!

This was my second year here and it was just as enjoyable as my first. My son was able to come along also. I was lucky to hunt with Dallas both times. I unfortunately didn't get an opportunity this time, but that's hunting. We did however kill four very good bulls in camp for the week, which is a success in my book. I can't wait to come back.

Hunt number 3 for me at Wayne Hill Outfitting and once again can't say enough good things as I leave. We hunt harder and have more fun than anywhere else. All of the guides are studs, and Mark and I were able to get it done on an awesome 6×6 Pope and Young caliber bull. the whole crew has become like family and I can't wait to be back.

Sixth hunt with Wayne Hill and was great as always. Awesome accommodations, hospitality and customizing match up clients to guides. That being said, Smiley was my guide for the fourth time, and he was SUPERB!! He did his job AGAIN and I couldn't seal the deal. Hit a bull on day 4, and after we returned with help, still could not find the bull. The fun bunch will return in two years to tackle the mountains, continue to lay distant friendships, and make new friends at camp. Thanks again to Wayne and Annette and ALL the guides!! See you in 2023.

This trip has been nothing short of amazing. Wayne Hill Outfitting is the real deal. The food and hospitality is great and the guides are absolutely top notch. Jared was my guide and on our second day he was able to call in a beautiful 6 x 6 bull within 20 yards for me to take a shot. He grossed out over 300″ and is the dream bull I never thought I would get. I owe it to these guys for all of their knowledge and hard work for making this trip a memory I will never forget. I will definitely be returning for another round. Thank you to everyone at Wayne Hill's for this amazing experience.

I couldn't have asked for a better trip. My guide, Micah, was nothing short of amazing. He put me on two different bulls, which the second one I ended up killing and it ran about 80 yards. These guides and Mr. Wayne know more than anyone around. The food and the lodge were amazing. I will definitely be back.
This was my first time hunting with a bow as well as my first time hunting elk. The first day was very active both physically and with the elk.It was a great eye opener for what was to come (a lot of incline). The second day was just as active, we called back and forth all morning and were made aware that they were there and they were planning on staying there. The third day was much more quiet. It was quiet all morning. We stopped on our way out about halfway up the mountain for a snack and heard what we thought was a chuckle. It was the other guides back and forth cow calling. Every answer we got was closer and closer. I got into position as the bull got closer. Within what seemed like seconds he was standing 30 yards slightly quartering away. I let one fly and he ran 15 yards. I re-positioned and shot again. He ran another 20 yards and again I re-positioned and let a third arrow fly. After 30 or so minutes of waiting we followed the blood trail to find a beautiful 6×7 with three holes in it. This experience has been nothing short of amazing. The people are incredible, the food is outstanding and the experience is second to none. As long as I am able I will be back in these mountains as often as I can.

This was my eighth hunt with Wayne Hill. I've had many successful hunts here but this was a tough week. The bulls were quiet. In spite of this my guide Danny got us around bulls 4 out of 7 days. Just couldn't get them to commit. Wayne continues to keep the guides organized and Annette provides great food and hospitality. Every trip has been well worth the time and effort.

This was my second time hunting with Wayne Hill Outfitting. These guys know how to get on the elk. Wayne was my guide. First day we had a bull bugling back and forth for almost 3 hours, but couldn't get to him. Second day we got on bulls and kept after them until we drew one ont. Nice 6×6 bull came out and I got a 45 yard broadside shot and put him down. It is the best feeling to watch a bull crash! All the guides are great, the lodge is immaculate and comfortable, and Annette's cooking is awesome. The hardest thing to do now is waiting to come back!

My fifth trip with Wayne Hill and it will hopefully not be my last. Hunted with Jason and he put me on a bull on day two. In a bad position to use my range finder so we guesstimated 40 and he was at 50. shot underneath, unscathed. Jason (aka Smiley) is a GREAT GUIDE who has gotten bulls in front of me on every trip. Next time we WILL seal the deal.

18th hunt guided by Wayne. Saw cows and bears multiple days. Day 6 we got between cows and the bull was below us. We were set up but the bull winded us and all crashed out. Great time as usual with the "fun bunch". Thanks Wayne and Annette.

This was my first year hunting at Wayne Hill Outfitting and I shot a nice 6×5 bull with my bow. The terrain was rugged but beautiful. Jared was my guide and he was absolutely wonderful. He called the bull in and even got him to come the last 15 yards after he had stopped to stare at me. He was so happy for me it just made the whole experience amazing. Annette is sweet and takes care of tasty meals. The lodge is decorated with world class elk shot by Wayne over the years, a testament to his expertise in the mountains. This is not your average public land hunt and these are not your average guides. If you are looking for friendly and superb guides, these guys are top notch. I can't thank Jared and all the guides who packed it out, up a very steep climb, enough. Thank you!

Trip #7 ended eventfully. The week started a little slow with the bulls being quiet. As the week progressed so did the action. Set up on 4 bulls during the week but couldn't seal the deal. This was my fifth time with Smiley as my guide and it was wonderful. If you judge your time at camp and with your guide as to whether or not you take an animal you are missing out. The relationships I have made at Wayne Hill OUtfitting over the years I will treasure the rest of my time. It has been a great ride!!

Thank you is not even close to being an adequate expression for the experience I had with the entire team at Wayne Hill Outfitting. The one word I keep saying to myself is this is the real deal, it is authentic and as real as it gets. I had an actual elk hunt experience that mimicked or topped anything I ever saw on film. My final comment is I can't wait to come back again next year.

This was my 4th archery elk hunt and the first with Wayne Hill. I would rate Wayne Hill #1 out of the 4 in all around hunt, food, comfort and camaraderie and guides are all great. Micah got stuck with me and went above and beyond the call of duty. He was able to get a few bulls within range with one excellent shot opportunity that a twig deflected my arrow and so save that large 5×5 for another day.

I cannot say enough good things about Wayne Hill Outfitting. From the amazing food to the atmosphere to the knowledgeable guides. Everything was top notch. I was fortunate enough to kill my first elk (5×5) on the first day. Mark was my guide and we hit it off right away. I don't think I have ever seen a group of guides work harder. Hunt number 6. Had a great week. Had a close encounter on day 3 that needed one more step for a shot. Unfortunately the wind changed and the bull spooked. On day 5 had another close encounter but the bull never cleared the bush. On the last day Mark called in a nice 7×6 and I made a good shot. Second year in a row I killed on the last day. Mark, my guide, worked hard all week and definitely knew his business. Wayne and Annette run a first rate outfit. I will be back for number 7.

I have hunted with Wayne Hill 5 times, killing 3 bulls, and have never been disappointed. This past year my guide, Mark, and I hunted hard for 7 days but stuck with it and killed on the final morning. Mark never gave up despite a frustrating week. That's a testament to how hard Wayne's guides will work to get clients in front of animals. Wayne runs a great outfit and pays close attention to every detail to maximize every hunter's opportunity to be successful. Annette runs the lodge as well as any five star hotel. The food is great. Wayne, Annette and the guides are great people who know how to hunt elk and how to make you feel at home. I hope to be back for hunt number 6.

This was my 7th hunt with Wayne and Annette and it was consistently great just like the previous hunts. The knowledge of Wayne and his guides is second to none. Micah was my guide. All aspects of his profession are right up there with all of the other guides, who are all great. Micah did everything he could, including busting his ass and mine. He is 25 and I am 60. It just didn't work out. Saw a great bull the first day, not close enough for a shot. Had a bull close enough the fifth day, but never could see him due to the thick brush. I had a great time and would like to come back. Annette, thank you for the great meals and your hard work taking care of us all. Wayne, thanks for everything you do, especially the lively conversation. 2021? Hopefully!

Hunt number 8 with Wayne Hill. No action for the first 4 days. Got into a bull on day 5, but he wouldn't clear the brush. Day 7 saw a decent bull but not close enough for a shot. Everything was excellent as usual. The food, lodge and daily entertainment are second to none. My guide Micah is a great young guide and did everything he could to get me a bull. That's why they call in hunting! Thanks to everyone for taking care of us all week.

Had bulls 4 out of 7 days. Wounded a nice 6×6, but did not recover. Passed on a 5×5 and chased the herd bull for hours. Great hunt. My 16th time here.
Couldn't have asked for a better place to go for my first elk hunting experience. From the guides knowing every inch of mountain, to coming back to some of the best food and laughs you could ask for after a long day hunting. Had bulls within 50 yards and was able to put down a 4×3. Will be back next year to try and get another bull.

First time with Wayne and Annette and if they keep guiding it won't be my last. Had an amazing time despite not killing. Walker, my guide, is an amazing young man. Made my first time elk hunting truly enjoyable. Great kid! We almost connected a couple of times but didn't work out. Not to lack of effort. The people here are amazing!! There is one apex predator in Northwestern Montana and it is Wayne Hill. Thanks to him my 7 day archery elk hunt lasted about 30 minutes. We hiked into the mountains well before daylight. As soon as I could see my pins, Wayne bugled and immediately got an answer. Five minutes later I was at full draw as a screaming 6 x 7 came crashing through the forest above me, headed in my direction. He entered a clearing, we locked eyes and the two of us stood there frozen for what seemed like an eternity. I knew he was about to bolt. I figured it was now or never, guessed the distance at 40 yards, and let one fly. Luckily my arrow found the boiler room and I double lunged him. The elk stumbled for about five seconds and crashed like an oak. You will not find a better woodsman than Wayne Hill, nor will you find a sweeter hostess and better cook than Annette. Thank you both for the hunt of a lifetime.

Where to begin… everything about Wayne Hill Outfitting is absolutely outstanding. No one knows more about elk hunting than Wayne and his guides. Dallas was an excellent guide who put me on 3 different bulls over a 4 day period. Even though I didn't harvest a bull it was an awesome experience. Dallas did his job and I will definitely be hunting with him again. The lodge and Annette's cooking is top notch. All the guides work together as a team and treat us hunters with the utmost respect which makes me want to come back year after year. You will not find a better outfitter, period. My experience at Wayne Hill Outfitting was great. The lodge and food are top notch, Wayne and the guides know these mountains like the back of their hand. My guide was Smiley, the guy really knows his stuff. Great guy and it was an enjoyable experience running around with him for the week. I didn't shoot anything but it was not for lack of effort. I could tell Smiley wanted me to get a bull just as bad as I did. We had a good encounter and were on a bull a couple days, the wind just didn't cooperate. All of the guides are very knowledgeable. I would gladly hunt with any, but was very pleased with Smiley..he's "the man".

He had me on bulls the first hour in the woods. He worked his butt off to get me into the elk. Several times I was able to knock an arrow. Even drew back a few times. Just not able to get a clear shot, but that is hunting. I won't go anywhere else for my next hunt.

Ninth hunt with Wayne Hill Outfitting. 9th archery. I had Jared as my guide. Not only is Jared a great guide, but he is also a great person. He really looks out for his clients, to make sure they are as comfortable as possible. This country is tough on an old man like me, but Jared asked me several times a day if I was doing okay. Thank you Jared. As for the hunting we set up on one bull, but he would not come in for a shot opportunity. The bulls just didn't seem quite ready to play the game. That's why it's called hunting. Thank you Wayne and Annette for the usual excellent meals, the beautiful lodge, and all the great time.

17th hunt with Wayne. First day 5 point came in to 11 yards. Passed this bull. Day 4 right after we left the truck Wayne hit the high notes and a 6 point bull came walking down the middle of the road and stopped at 4 yards. I didn't see that I had an ethical shot because of the angle. Day 5 Wayne bugled the same place as the day before and a bull answered above us. Climbed through the brush and set up. Wayne called a good 6 or 7 point "lodge bull" inside of 30 yards, never came out of the brush for a shot. As usual great hunt. Food awesome as always.

This was my second archery trip out and my first time able to harvest a bull. He was a 5×4 that was ear tagged and collared by FWP. Very un-real experience that has me hooked for life. My guide was Carson and he was excellent! Great guy to get along with and was able to really learn alot with his knowledge. He always made sure to see how I was doing and was quick to make changes if needed. He was a great teacher overall being so new. We had a great group of guys here this week so it made it very enjoyable. Thank you Wayne and Annette for the again great experience and hospitality. Can't wait to come back and experience this wonderful opportunity provided.

Wayne Hill Outfitting was everything I hoped it would be. I had a wonderful experience this September with three close encounters and two shot opportunities at a very nice bull. My guide Jared was an outstanding elk guide and worked extremely hard to get me these opportunities. Wayne runs this outfit very professionally and expects the same degree of professionalism from his guides. After the morning hunts, I enjoyed outstanding home cooked meals and great conversations. My second hunt with Wayne Hill. Although I didn't harvest this time, I had herd bull at thirty yards. I had two bulls within 50 yards for well over an hour. What else can you ask for? It was the most exciting hunt of my life. Jared is an incredible guide. I was coming off of a broken ankle and a back injury, so I wasn't as mobile as I would have liked, but he was patient and helpful and still got within 2 steps of the bull of a lifetime.
