Extended Range Capability

Rifle hunting allows for longer range shots up to 300+ yards, providing more opportunities in Montana's varied terrain including ridgelines and valley systems where elk and deer often feed.

Peak Animal Activity

Late season rifle hunts coincide with increased elk and deer movement as animals prepare for winter, making them more predictable and providing excellent hunting opportunities for patient hunters.

Dual Species Opportunity

Hunt both trophy elk and deer — including whitetail and mule deer — in the same wilderness terrain. Our brow tine bulls only area produces Boone and Crockett class bucks season after season.

Our Hunt Policy

In the event you draw blood, your hunt is concluded. We will make every effort to retrieve your animal. Any accidental or unintentional discharge of a client's weapon while in the company of a guide will result in termination of services by the outfitter without a refund.

Professional Rifle Hunting Excellence

Marksmanship & Shot Placement

Successful rifle hunting requires precision marksmanship and thorough understanding of shot placement for quick, ethical kills. Our guides support hunters in achieving optimal shooting positions and ensuring accuracy under hunting conditions. We emphasize knowing your effective range and making shots only when confident of clean, ethical kills.

Proper shot placement involves understanding elk and deer anatomy, vital organ locations, bone structure, and angle calculations for various shooting scenarios. Our guides assist with range estimation and help hunters decide when to take shots — and when to wait for a better opportunity.

Terrain Reading & Animal Movement

Understanding how elk and deer use terrain throughout different times of day and in varying weather conditions is essential for positioning hunters in optimal locations. Our guides excel at reading landscape features, identifying travel corridors, feeding areas, bedding locations, and water sources that concentrate animal activity during rifle seasons.

Weather pattern interpretation plays a crucial role in predicting animal movement during rifle seasons. Our guides understand how barometric pressure, temperature changes, wind, and precipitation affect elk and deer activity — and use that knowledge to position hunters for maximum effectiveness.

Field Care & Trophy Preparation

Proper field care immediately after harvest is critical for meat quality and trophy preservation. Our guides provide expert field dressing, cooling, and initial processing to ensure your harvest is properly cared for from the moment of recovery. We carry all necessary equipment and bring decades of experience in field care techniques.

Trophy preparation services include cape care for taxidermy, photography assistance, and coordination with local processors and taxidermists. We help document your success and ensure all trophy elements are properly preserved according to your individual preferences.
