Montana spring black bear hunt success runs about 90% kill with about 110% shooting. Opportunities on black bear are in the well over 95% range. We have all color phases of black bear: black, brown, cinnamon, blonde, and black with white V marking bears.
Spring season runs April 15th - May 31st. Montana is a fair chase state - we use spotting and stalking methods only. No hounds or bait are used. We utilize closed roads, open brush fields and natural feeding habitats.
We are one of the few outfitters that use only fair chase methods without hounds or bait. This provides a more challenging and rewarding hunting experience. Our guides have over 40 years of experience and know the terrain and bear behavior intimately.
We take a very limited number of bear hunters each year to ensure quality hunts and exceptional success rates. The bears in our area are healthy and well-fed, producing beautiful, thick coats in all color phases.
